Minister of extreme adventure activities

Last night I had a drink with our minister of Extreme Adventure Activities, Tom Kenyon. I am very happy that he likes the idea that he is the minister of EAA. After all it in his portfolio. We discussed having a state base jumping day, unfortunately it wont happen.
I am very happy that this year we will celebrate our SA Adventurer of the Year for the first time. Next on the To Do list is an Extreme Adventure Activities Day. Something for next Spring or Autumn I think.

problem solving

My daughter has just reached a very important and very scary developmental stage. She has developed the problem solving skills to undo any of the 3 types of child safety devices used in our home.  The ones that require two types of coordination (push/pull whilst turning) were no obstacle. The "push the trigger one way whilst removing a tag the other" were also no challenge.  The only ones that caused any challenge were the ones requiring “adult strength”, these took a little time to solve, but again were conquered within a couple of tries.

In a classic situation she found granny struggling with the freezer and took over opening it.  My daughter is not even 3 yet.

Through activities such as sailing, orienteering, rock climbing, etc. we learn problem solving skills. I wonder if my daughter will be good at sailing as a result of what she has learned in the home?
